The u12/13 took home bronze while the u14 and seniors took home gold U12/13 U14 Senior Jane Fagan Ali Geraghty Tara jameson Laura McEnery Lynda Earls Claire Earls Alex Carey Aimee Mooney Ann Hanton Orna Dowd Laura Daly Helen Sheelan The third event consisted of 4x400m cross country relays and took place in Greystones Rugby Club on the 27th of November The 1st and 2nd years were placed 3rd, the 3rd years placed 2nd, while the senior team maintained their gold winning performance
The east Leinster Cross Country Championships took place in Avondale on the 4th of February Three teams entered- 1st, 2nd and 3rd years Unfortunately due to the mock examinations the seniors decided not to compete Jane Fagan (2nd year) was placed 6th and Ali Geraghty (3rd year) was placed 7th Both qualifi ed as individuals for the Leinster fi nals which were held in D C U under very tough weather conditions, Jane ran a fantastic race and qualifi ed for the All Ireland Finals in Cork C I T Unfortunately Ali just missed out on qualifi cation Congratulations to both on their fi ne performances and to Jane for achieving 36th place in the national competition with a fi eld of approximately 120 individuals
On the 6th of May we travelled to Irishtown Stadium in Ringsend to partake in the East Leinster Track and Field Championships There were fi ne performances with Amee Mooney taking gold in the inter 2000 walk, Rachel Bolger gold in the Senior javelin, Linda Earls silver in both the senior 400 and 800m, Jane Fagan silver in the junior 800m and bronze in the 1500m, Laura Daly silver in the junior long jump and Tara Jameson bronze in the senior 3000m and 12500m Dara Broe, Helen Sheelan and Ali Geraghty were all placed 5th in the finals of their respective events
The Leinster finals took place in Santry Stadium on Saturday last and despite the heat the girls put in fantastic performances Aimee, Claire and Rachel all came home with silver medals and Tara bronze All will be representing DCW and Leinster in the national track and fi eld championships to be held in two weeks time, and we congratulate the girls and wish them the very best of luck In the national fi nals in Tullamore on June 5th Tara Jameson took bronze, Rachel Bolger and Claire Earls took Silver
